Concrete Finisher/Carpenter

We are looking for skilled and reliable Concrete Finisher/Carpenter to join our team. If you are a motivated individual with a passion for concrete finishing and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply!
Job Summary:
The Concrete Finisher/Carpenter is responsible for the smooth and level finishing of concrete surfaces. This includes all aspects of the finishing process, from preparing the concrete to applying various finishes and ensuring a high-quality final product. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of concrete properties, finishing techniques, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Construct formworks for all concrete applications including slabs, foundations, sidewalks, curbing and paving (grade and line)
- Patching of Concrete
- Operate various finishing tools and equipment, such as floats, trowels, edgers, groovers, and power finishing machines.
- Tie rebar for all applications of concrete, including: foundations, slabs and walls
- Apply different concrete finishes, including smooth, textured, stamped, and exposed aggregate.
- Spread, vibrate, screed, and float concrete to ensure that concrete is compacted to desired consistency and surface is finished to specified uniformity and smoothness.
- Mix and apply concrete sealers and other protective coatings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Cut materials with hand and power tools, assemble and nail, cut and shape items
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure project completion within deadlines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher/Carpenter
- Proficiency in using various concrete finishing tools and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- OSHA certification or other relevant certifications a plus.

Superintendent
ALL RESPONSES WILL BE CONFIDENTIAL
A Superintendent is the on-site leader responsible for the overall execution of a construction project. They are the primary point of contact and coordination for all on-site activities, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This involves managing subcontractors, coordinating labor, overseeing materials and equipment, enforcing safety regulations, and maintaining detailed project documentation. The Superintendent is responsible for all the moving parts to bring the project to a successful conclusion.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend contracts, purchase agreements, and contract details for the project, coordinating subcontractor and supplier scope with the Project Manager
- Determine site logistics for site access, temporary roads, fencing, etc., and discuss with Project Manager
- Prior to construction, survey and record all adjacent and perimeter site and building elevations
- Arrange temporary services, primary surveying and horizontal control
- Conduct pre-construction meetings, weekly coordination meetings with all subcontractors, owners architects and consultants
- Determine methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedules and document actual hours worked
- Supervise Company employees assigned to the project
- Schedule and coordinate suitable equipment
- Resolve construction problems, lack of productivity, and work interfaces
- Complete and oversee maintenance and proper completion of all daily work documentation and other paperwork required, submitting all as required on a timely basis
- Monitor, coordinate, and review submittal logs and shop drawings
- Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
- Resolve plan and spec discrepancies with the project design team
- Work with Project Management to establish and maintain a master schedule
- Develop site logistics plan
- Responsible for the safety of the site and all workers as well as the overall quality of the project
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of construction supervision and/or supervision experience
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, equipment, and methods; craft agreements, jurisdiction, and negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules, and safety
- Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills essential
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw solid conclusions
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

General Superintendent

We are looking for an experienced operations professional to join our team as a General Superintendent. The ideal candidate will bring positive energy and enthusiasm to our team as we continue making Commerce a leader in the Wichita market. Your primary responsibilities and experience requirements are listed below:
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Above all, maintain a professional and positive attitude when dealing with an owner, architect, subcontractor, or supplier, as well as each project superintendent resolving conflicts in a professional and respectful manner.
Know, understand, and enforce all OSHA and company safety requirements including, but not limited to:
- Monitor subcontractors and staff on site to ensure full and complete safety adherence
- Leading and coordinating sequence of events in case of an accident or inspection
- Document overall compliance and review with each project superintendent regularly
- Manage safety training program to ensure all employees are current on required classes
Study project plans to have general detailed knowledge of each project, as well as unique elements of each project, to assist superintendents and ensure they have full and complete understanding of their project by:
- Coordinating and identifying all potential risks at each job site with project superintendent
- Maintaining an organized field log on general activities, personnel, and project staffing
- Attentive awareness on all key project deliveries and all additional job-by-job project needs as necessary
Monitor and plan equipment needs for each job to ensure necessary equipment is delivered on time and moved when no longer needed including, but not limited to:
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately
- When necessary, assist in equipment leases, purchases, or rentals
- Identify optimum options and assess the long-term needs for all equipment
Coordinate lines of communication as liaison between office and field workers by:
- Attend weekly office meetings to discuss job progress, issues, schedules, and concerns
- Maintain close contact with the project manager and problem subcontractors to be sure schedules will be held and that coordination on each project is happening
- Assist project superintendents with upcoming three-week schedules to coordinate and plan staff projections for efficient overall job flow
- Assist in the hiring process for all field personnel and help identify areas for growth
- Be a steward of the company; make good decisions and create opportunities for growth
Lead and promote positive attitudes and professional workmanship including, but not limited to:
- Train and help develop field personnel to better their knowledge and skills
- Enforce and maintain consistent discipline
- Elevate teamwork to a high-level boosting morale as efficiently as possible
- “Right crew/right job” crew management
- Lead and utilize the runner as best as possible
Qualifications:
- 10+ years as a commercial superintendent with out of ground/interior experience
- Excellent background in understanding man-power utilization
- OSHA Training proficiency, including CPR/First Aid certifications
